This course aims to provide a standard for the operation of an ISB for safety cover at events and training.

Pre-requisites:
- Minimum of 17 years of age on the date of assessment.
- Have a minimum of 20 hours’ experience (10 of which should be logged in surf), evidence of such being verified by an Officer of the Club or equivalent.
- Hold the Inshore Safety Boat Crewman qualification or recognised equivalent.
- Hold a current SLSGB Surf Life Saver qualification (or recognised equivalent award) or complete Section 3 of the syllabus.
Course duration:
This course runs for 5 days in total, this will include 20 hours afloat. An assessment will take place on the 5th day. As mentioned the all courses are flexible and can be run over non-consecutive days if required.
Validity:
24 months from the date of the assessment. A relevant SLSGB ISB proficiency must be completed to maintain validity on an annual basis.
