The aim of this course is to provide a standard for the operation of an IRB for safety cover at events and training.

Pre-requisites:
- Minimum of 16 years of age on the date of assessment.
- Have a minimum of 10 hours’ experience (five of which should be logged in surf), evidence of such being verified by an Officer of the Club or equivalent.
- Hold a current SLSGB Surf Life Saver qualification (or recognised equivalent award) or complete Section 3 of the syllabus. (The Life Saving pre-requisite must be attained prior to undertaking any ISB training).
Course duration:
This course runs for 3 days in total, this will include 10 hours afloat . An assessment will take place on the 3rd day. As mentioned the all courses are flexible and can be run over non-consecutive days if required
Validity:
24 months from the date of the assessment.
