Welcome to Seaford Lifeguards
Here you will find information about Seaford Lifeguards and the National Lifesaving Academy.
Seaford lifeguards are voluntary lifeguards whose aims are to keep Seaford Bay free from danger, to prevent loss of life from drowning by training people from all walks of life in water safety, first aid, boat handling, radio operation and resuscitation. Seaford Beach is patrolled at weekends and Bank Holidays from May to September, between 1000 and 1800hrs warning beach users of the dangers of their activities, and carrying out rescues when required.
Seaford Lifeguards were established in 1970 providing a volunteer Lifeguard service on Seaford beach. The organisation has grown in size and reputation into a world-class Lifeguard Service and training centre. Its latest evolution is the creation of the National Lifesaving Academy, the training arm of Seaford Lifeguards. On the 15th of January 2013 the committee of Seaford Lifeguards decided to act upon the research and develop the concept of a world-class training facility providing Lifeguard, rescue and medical training operating nation wide.
